Students will learn all beginner-intermediate Pilates exercises that require a higher degree of mind/body connection. This program develops a student’s ability to professionally teach and construct effective classical Pilates workouts. Students meet on select Saturdays & Sundays 1:30pm-6:00pm.
In addition, students:
Will learn the complete level 2 classical repertoire of Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair & Small Apparatus.
Receive the level 2 manual of classical exercises.
Begin the “Learn-as-You Earn” program, receiving $1800 for 200 hours of client teaching.
Learn how to give a client a postural assessment.
Pre-requisite:
Level 1- Discovery
The Workshop Outline:
+ Workshop 1, 4.5 hrs
Level 2 Anatomy: postural analysis, hips & lower body, lordosis, understanding of concentric, eccentric & isometric muscle activation.
+ Workshop 2, 4.5 hrs
Level 2 Reformer, teaching skills using vocal, visual & hands-on cues, as well as spotting techniques for safety
+ Workshop 3, 4.5 hrs
Level 2 Mat & Cadillac, teaching skills using hands-on and vocal cues.
+ Workshop 4, 4.5 hrs
Level 2 Anatomy & Small Apparatus
+ Workshop 5, 4.5 hrs
Level 2 Wunda Chair, workout design & review.
+ Test 2, 3 hrs
Students participate in a test designed to assess their knowledge of level 2 Pilates, anatomy, Pilates philosophy and workout design. 75% is required to pass.
$1,375 (due in full at time of enrollment)
$155 test fee (due before test)

The 500 hr apprenticeship is an important part of Pilates certification success. It allows students the opportunity to:
Practice Pilates consistently
Teach actual clients and be paid $1800 in our “Earn-as-You-Learn Program”
Develop necessary skills to teach group classes
Enhance client connection skills and business administration
Self-motivated students average 10-12 hours of studio time per week to complete the entirety of the program below:
200 hrs hands-on client teaching
200 hrs self-practice on Mat and Apparatus
(50 hrs via online videos are permitted)
100 hrs Pilates education including:
10 hrs taking classes
10 hrs assisting class teaching
10 hrs class observation
10 hrs private training observation
10 hrs mentorship with a higher level student
50 hrs anatomy study
To receive a certificate of Pilates instruction, a student is required to:
Complete 5 Levels and pass all 5 tests
Complete the 500 hr apprenticeship program
NIGEL SAMPSON, Co-founder
Nigel moved from Adelaide, Australia in 1991 to be immersed in the emerging health/fitness scene in Los Angeles. While working in an Australian restaurant, he also started accumulating certifications in the fitness industry and settled in as a personal trainer at the historic Los Angeles Athletic Club. While there he became proficient in fitness testing, weight management and senior health rehabilitation. After discovering Pilates in 1996, he moved his focus to learning the art and science of this incredible method.
In the late 90’s he worked in the Physical Therapy settings using Pilates as a rehabilitative tool, while also branching into the entertainment industry. In 2000 he opened Whole Body Method on Beverly Blvd and today WBM has settled in Mid-City and is the most established studio in Los Angeles.
Nigel holds 7 mind/body certifications including Pilates, Yoga and Gyrotonic. His interests include non-traditional healing, Ayurvedic science, nutritional formulation, business management, and mind/body practices.
When not at WBM he spends time in the great outdoors and at WBM’s retreat casa in Joshua Tree, CA.
