For most people the motivation to start a fitness training routine is to feel better, look better or to lose weight! Often though, the underlying reason is due to poor posture.

With poor posture

  • your skeletal system contorts

  • your muscles tighten up

  • breathing is impaired

  • you feel tired as you combat the strain on your nervous system

  • it looks unattractive

Fortunately the body is very pliable and the spine, the epicenter of poor posture, lends itself to correction with proper work. Joseph Pilates said “If your spine is inflexibly stiff at 30, you are old; if it is completely flexible at 60, you are young.

Pilates is an excellent way to restore your posture so that you can sit, stand, walk and exercise with grace. It achieves this by;

  • working the body in a uniformly balanced way

  • peforming specific exercises to restore the natural curves to the spine

  • working on deepeing your breathe

  • stretching tight muscles

  • strengthening weak muscles

  • unwinding bound-up joints in the hips, ankles and shoulders.

With increased mobility and less mechanical strain on your joints, we are certai that you will begin to feel better.

Your friends may even comment.. “ You look taller” or “did you lose weight?
